It does not take a genius to know that fast-food outlets are predominant in our lives, with their existences in every country. It just proves much our society has become reliant on hamburgers and fries. However, this piece of news may just change your mind. The hearty breakfast deluxe we all love at McDonald's, is worth half a day's worth of calories, at a staggering amount of 1,061 calories. And Burger King's Double Crossain'wich with ham and sausage may only have 570 calories, but its 1,630mg of sodium is enough to start anyone's day with piercing heart burns. Your mind and taste buds may be in argument now convincing you to make the right choice, continue reading on and they may just be in consensus.
Hearing your parents and our healthy conscious friends reminding us not to eat fast food get on your nerves especially when you just happen to love eating burgers from McDonald's or those oversize chicken's thighs from KFC. But then again, maybe they do have a point on when it comes to all this type of junk food. And here's what we have to say:
Look Better
Hear ye, even to you skinny people. Eating fast food does not make you put on those pounds, whether you like it or not. Yes, you do get them fast compared to other types of food, and yes they can taste much better than your average home cooked food. And, yes of course they look appealing.
However, in studies involving monkeys lasting six years, scientists found that monkeys who primarily ate fast food gained 7.2 percent of their body weight. Those who ate much less fast food gained only 1.8 percent of their weight. They also looked better because fast food packs only 30 percent more fat around the waistline, according to New Scientist. Do not want to put on those extra tires?
Be Healthier
Did you know that people who eat less fast food suffer from less diabetes and heart disease because they do not gain as much weight and take in as many calories from fast foods?
Did you also know that calories in fast food fats put on more pounds because they are poly unsaturated fasts? They are those kind of fats that are stored in abdominal area which contributes significantly to diabetes and heart disease. Well, after knowing that these things can actually do to your body, do consider twice before lining up for a Big Mac, a large fries and a medium coke.
Feel Better
In case you don't realise, high fat and salt content in fast food would make us easily thirsty which we would quench with soft drink that was included in the meals. Soft drinks contain high sugar content and would fatten us up if taken regularly. Eating so many non-nutritional, salt and fat-filled calroeis also makes you less hungry for fruits, vegetables and whole grains. This means missing out on minerals and vitamins that provide you with complex forms of energy that helps your body to feel better and work faster.
Live Longer
We can all look better, feel better, and live better by reducing our intake of fast food! The National Research Council finds that being overweight contributes significantly to higher rates of diabetes and hear disease in the United States, reducing life expectancy. By reducing or cutting fast food out of your diet, you reduce the chances of becoming obese, loweing your likelihood of diseases that reduce your life expectancy. Take your loved ones into consideration the next time you crave for a fattening meal. I'm sure they want to spend more time with you!
In conclusion, although fast food is convenient and a tasty addition to a diet, it can have serious health and social effects. So before you pick up a meal from a fast food junk, think about the effects it would play in your life.
